The Story

For 2 weeks Lian Murales & Myself worked on the side of a school & sports hall in the baking hot August sun.

Pelota mano (or esku huska in Basque) is widely considered the "queen" variant of Basque pelota, representing the purest and most traditional form of the sport. It is played using only the bare hands to strike a small, incredibly hard ball against a wall. Walled ball games and hand-hitting traditions have existed in Europe for centuries, with early local court evidence in places like Bilbao dating back to the 1500s and medieval times.

The streets were stained with red on our final day of painting! The "Elgoibar Red Wine Festival" is a local name for Txiki Eguna (Txiki Day). This massive, vibrant red wine fight is held annually in the town of Elgoibar, in the Basque Country of Spain, as a highlight of the San Bartolome Festivals
